Terms and conditions

  1. Supervision
     All treks are led by a trained and experienced staff member. Customers are not permitted to walk the alpacas without a staff member present, nor are they allowed to leave the group with their alpaca.

  2. Safety Briefing
     A safety briefing will be provided at the start of each trek. Failure to adhere to the safety guidelines during the briefing may result in removal from the walk, without compensation.

  3. Sunday & Bank Holiday Bookings
     If your booking is on a Sunday or Bank Holiday, please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled experience and wait by the silver gate for admission to the farm. The rest of Lathcoats is closed to the public, so we ask that you remain respectful and head directly to the Animal Area.

  4. Group Size
     Each walk is limited to a maximum of 9 alpacas. Please note that you may be walking with other customers. Private walks can be arranged for an additional fee.

  5. Alpaca Pairing
     Alpacas are social animals and must walk in pairs. Therefore, all bookings must include at least 2 alpacas. If you are unable to pair up, please contact us to see if we can match you with another group.

  6. Additional Charges & Accompanying Person
     There is an additional charge of £10 for each extra participant. Each alpaca trekker is allowed a maximum of 1 additional person to accompany them on the walk. This does not include walking your own alpaca or taking turns/swapping with the full-paying participant. Only the full-paying participant will be responsible for walking the alpaca throughout the trek.

  7. Children
     All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 16 or older. Children aged 4-7 can help walk an alpaca with a paying adult, but must remain with the adult at all times. Children aged 0-3 are not advised to accompany on the trek due to terrain and duration. No pushchairs are allowed, but babies in slings may come with an accompanying paying adult who is not walking an alpaca.

  8. Handwashing
     Handwashing facilities are provided. Adults accompanying children are responsible for ensuring that handwashing is carried out before and after the walk, as well as after any direct contact with the alpacas.

  9. Dress Code
     Customers must wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required (sandals are not suitable). Loose-fitting clothing that may flap in the wind should be avoided. As walks will continue in all weather, please bring waterproof clothing if necessary.

  10. Cancellations

      Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance: You can reschedule once, subject to availability.

      Cancellations within 48 hours: We will attempt to resell the walk, but if we cannot fill the places, no refund or rescheduling will be provided.

      Cancellations must be made in writing to bookings@allthingalpacauk.co.uk.

      If we need to cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances, we will offer you an alternative date or a full refund, depending on the situation.

  1. Gift Vouchers
     Gift vouchers must be used within 12 months of the purchase date.

  2. Farm Conditions
     Please note that the walks take place on a farm, and the terrain may be muddy. We are not responsible for any damage to clothing or shoes caused by the conditions.

  3. Pregnancy Disclaimer
     Due to rough terrain and the risk of being accidentally kicked, we do not recommend alpaca trekking for pregnant women. If you are pregnant and wish to participate, you will be required to sign a disclaimer.

  4. Weather-Dependent
     Walks are subject to weather conditions. If the weather is unsuitable for walking, we will cancel the walk and offer you an alternative date. Refunds will not be provided for cancellations due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

  5. Communication
     We will collect your email address and mobile number at the time of booking. If your walk is canceled due to weather or other reasons, we will contact you via both of these methods. Please ensure you check your messages; we are not responsible for missed notifications.

  6. Risk Assessment
     A risk assessment for each trekking route has been completed and is available upon request.

  7. Time Constraints
     While we aim to stick to the scheduled walk time, alpacas walk at their own pace. If you have a strict time limitation, please inform us at the beginning of your walk.


  8. Photography
     During the walk, we may take photographs that could be shared on our website or social media channels. If you prefer not to have your photo taken, please let us know.

      There will be a maximum of 4 participants for our Junior Farmer and other farm animal meet and greets.

      There will be a maximum of 8 participants for our Alpaca meet and greet.

      Please note that you may be sharing your experience with other customers. Private experiences can be arranged at an additional cost.

      Additional Charges: There is an additional charge of £10 for each extra accompanying adult on our Junior Farmer experience.

      Children: All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 16 or older. One adult is included free of charge per child participant.

      Handwashing: Handwashing facilities are provided. Adults accompanying children are responsible for ensuring that handwashing is completed before and after interacting with the animals.

      Dress Code: Customers must wear closed-toe, sturdy shoes. Sandals are not suitable for animal experiences. If customers are not dressed appropriately, they may be denied entry to the animal enclosures.

      Cancellations:

      Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will be offered one reschedule, subject to availability.

      For cancellations within 48 hours, we will attempt to resell the place, but if it cannot be filled, the booking will not be rescheduled or refunded.

      Gift Vouchers: Gift vouchers must be redeemed for an experience within 12 months of the purchase date.

      Pregnancy Disclaimer: If you are pregnant and wish to take part in an alpaca, pygmy goat, or donkey meet and greet, please inform us in advance so we can implement appropriate safety measures.

      Weather Conditions: All experiences are held in most weather conditions, except in storms or high winds. If you wish to reschedule due to weather, an additional admin fee may apply.

  1. Validity
     Gift vouchers must be used towards an experience within 12 months of the purchase date. After this period, the voucher will no longer be valid.

  2. Redemption
     Gift vouchers for a monetary amount can be redeemed for any available experience at All Things Alpaca UK, subject to availability. Gift vouchers for specific experiences must be redeemed towards that experience at All Things Alpaca UK, subject to availability.

  3. Non-Refundable
     Gift vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

  4. Transferability
     Gift vouchers are transferable, meaning they can be given to another person. However, they are not redeemable for cash.

  5. Booking Requirements
     When redeeming a gift voucher, customers must book in advance. Bookings are subject to availability and must be made at least 48 hours prior to the desired date of experience.

  6. Loss or Theft
     We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged gift vouchers. Lost or stolen vouchers will not be reissued or refunded.

  7. Group Bookings
     Gift vouchers can be used for group bookings, but group bookings require prior arrangement. Please contact us for more details.

  8. Extensions
     Extensions beyond the 12-month validity period are not permitted.

  9. Age Restrictions

      The Alpaca Trekking experience is suitable for individuals aged 4 years and older. Children aged 4-7 can help walk an alpaca with a paying adult, but must remain with the adult at all times.

      Children under 4 are not permitted to participate in alpaca treks due to safety and terrain concerns.

      Other experiences may have different age restrictions, and we recommend checking the specific terms for each experience before booking.
