Careers
Paid Vacancies
We are a very small team and there are rarely paid vacancies available.
If any positions become available, they will be advertised here and on our socials.
Volunteering
We are often on the lookout for hardworking, motivated and caring individuals to join our volunteer team. Ideally you must be confident working and speaking around people of all ages, be flexible with your time and are hardworking and willing to learn new skills.
You must have a reasonable level of physical fitness and be able to spend a long day on your feet and above all, be passionate about animals, conservation and education. In house training will be provided. Volunteers must be aged 14 years and over.
College Work Placements
Currently we are linked with ARU Writtle, Suffolk New, Chelmsford and South Essex.
We are a provider of work-based placements for animal care courses and help students to gain valuable experience, knowledge and life skills, preparing them for a career in the animal industry. Students should be able to commit to set working hours, be reliable and hardworking and have a passion for wildlife.
We are a public facing business, so students will be expected to learn how to interact with the public, and be professional and polite at all times. We also go offsite to schools, care homes, weddings, and other events, so students should be prepared to be flexible and happy to travel.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
Currently we are an assessor in both the volunteer and skills section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. We are insured to take students aged 14 years and over.
We expect students to be able to commit to 2-4 hours a week, be reliable and hard working and have good communication skills. In house training with our animals will be included, and we advise to research our business, what we offer and what animals we house before contacting us.
We are fully licensed, insured and hold relevant DBS checks.
